I snapped this pair of pix while navigating icy roads on the way to my mom’s place last winter. Probably not the safest thing to do, but perfect for today’s post!
I woke up this morning to a beautiful winter scene outside the big bay windows of my living room. Then I remembered that I had to bring my car in for a pre-winter tune-up — apparently a day too late.
All it took was a hard corner and the familiar “dugga-dugga-dugga” of my antilock brakes to remind me what winter driving is all about: Keep your RPMs low so your wheels don’t spin, and give yourself plenty of room to slow down or stop. There’s really no need to fear driving on the white stuff; I myself am quite looking forward to the ride home from the shop, sitting comfortably on one of my heated front seats…
