    Queue Jumpers Beware

While waiting in line—or “on line” for you yanks—just now, some woman thought she could get away with cutting in front of me by drifting in from the side. I tapped her on the shoulder, and here’s what went down:

Me: “Excuse me, I think I was here before you.”

Woman: “I don’t think so, but all right.”

Me: “I’d be happy to argue about it if you want.”

    Woman: “Clearly I don’t.”

    Me: “Good.”

BTW, we were both lined up in front of an ice cream truck, the hilarity of which is only now becoming apparent to me…

    Garage Goths

    pic

Great… First the windshield of my car gets smashed in, and now my parking garage has apparently been overrun by goths with paint-cans.

What next? Sure hope it’s spell-check…
    ;)

    My New New Media Gig

No, it’s not a porn site!

In addition to my continuing duties at iLaugh.com I’ve been tapped by CoEd Communications to participate in the redesign of EcoVoyageurs.ca, the environmental impact site for kids that’s part of the middle school curriculum in many provinces across Canada.

It’s a noble endeavour that will hopefully keep me from reneging on my promise to be carbon neutral in my air travels this year…

    Kiss the Beard Goodbye

    pic

My 40th birthday has come and gone, along with my Conservatory Class’s Grad Show—and since the missus can’t stand the beard, I’ve really no reason to keep it. So today Al Howell is made good on his promise and took me down to the swanky Men’s Salon in the basement of the Royal York Hotel for a fancy, straight-razor shave.

One hour and many cuts later, I decided that it was still worth it for the potpourri of scents from the various old-man products that were applied to my tender face.

    Thanks, Al!

    Nintendo Download Station

    pic

Here’s yours truly using the Nintendo download station at his local EB Games to try out a demo of the new title “Brain Age”. The game was already a huge hit in Japan when I visited there in January and the English version was likewise sold out by the time I walked into the store.

This download station idea is a great trick to get you into your local games shop—all you do is bring along your DS and use its built-in wifi connection to download all kinds of free game demos and movies. Whatever you download is wiped after you power off, though, so you’ll likely keep coming back for more!
