I have to say that I think I disagree with you on most of this Andrew. First and foremost I think and athlete being a bad pitchman is not a bad thing necessarily. Sure advertisers may try and get them to do it, but just because they’re bad at it doesn’t really matter. What matters is there ability to play the sport, after all that’s what they’re paid to do.

I also think your generalization of a hockey fan is way off. I too was the nerd that hated sports when I grew up, I still don’t really like them now. The thing is I can see why people do like sports; it’s a way to enjoy the drama of something real happening with unsure consequences.

I like you could care less about the strike; I do think it’s a bunch of people just trying to get every last dollar out of peoples pockets. You want to solve the “who” gets the money problem and keep all your fans, lower the price of the tickets. I believe this is what you meant at the end.

Just giving my two cents. However for a cooler effect pretend that I’m yelling this through a megaphone too.

Sorry to break this to you, but the NHL is rigged. How else could the Leafs have not made the 100th Anniversary playoffs for the Stanley Cup?

    Man with Megaphone: Shania Twain

    image

History will hopefully show that I’ve invented a new genre of Podcasting—the Pod-rant! And all it took was the megaphone effect on my GarageBand software.

Fans of Shania Twain are better off clicking here; everyone else can listen in here and/or subscribe to this iPodder feed.

      AC:

Great rant, and great megaphone effect –makes the Mutt Lange production of Mrs. Lange’s music seem that much more, well, dogged. I haven’t been subjected to much of the Pride of Timmins’ music, but what I’ve heard sounds exactly like Mutt’s other productions, mainly Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, and whatever else he’s turned into radio-safe pablum.

That podcast was a scream… Man that was a lame way to put that. Either way I look forward to more in the future.

      AC:
I found the debate thought-provoking and typically Canadian in its polite exchange of ideas.
I am guessing that Mr. Mosshammer never had the joy of working with Windows 1 or 2, before Microsoft borrowed the icon and mouse idea from Apple? Or if he did, he’s forgetting he had to switch to the DOS prompt to actually start up programs?

    Pillow Talk

Still mucking around while I figure out how I can record those internet debates… In regards to this particular Podcast, I figured that if Chris Rockwell could take a microphone with him into the crapper then there’d be nothing stopping me from taking my Powerbook to bed.

Click here or on the graphic above to listen to the recording, or load up this feed into your RSS-enabled software…

I think the trick to not falling asleep while podcasting is all in the soft lullaby music in the background. I would have posted sooner but I too drifted a little listening to it’s soft chimy…ZZZZ… Huh, oh sorry.

      Entertaining as usual.

I also just downloaded the software, so I’ll test it out tonight, and if all is good we can have a candy forum like no other.
